BRAGSA to employ over 5,000 persons

Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – The buildings Roads and General Services Authority (BRAGSA), says the over 5,000 person will be employed island wide, as it rolls out its annual summer road cleaning programme.

The programme spearheaded by BRAGSA is scheduled to begin on Thursday August 6, 2020.

The categories of employment for the more than 5,000 persons include “395 gangs and 892 jobbers, who will be responsible for the cutting of trees, and cleaning of roads in all 15 constituencies over the next two weeks,” BRAGSA says.

Contracts will also be given to over 150 truckers and conductors, BRAGSA says.

The programme is being done at an estimated cost of 2.5 million EC dollars.

Meanwhile, BRAGSA says it is appealing to motorists and pedestrian to take the necessary precautions during this period.
