About the tutor

My name is Paul Williams. I am from Barbados. I am a product of a Barbadian father and a Jamaican mother. I am a graduate Electronics Engineer (Class of 2019) from UWI Mona with 3-5 years of Network Engineering experience working at FLOW Jamaica. I also possess a postgraduate teacher training diploma (Class of 2023) in mathematics education with term-by-term experience Wolmers Boys High School and Charlemont High School in Jamaica. I am currently pursuing my Masters online at the University of East London/University of Zambia. I am also pursuing an automotive maintenance diploma at Distinction College in Jamaica. I love mathematics and teaching mathematics. My hobbies, among other things, include running, tennis, sightseeing (driving), and music. I am a classically trained piano player with a background in concert performances as well as church music ministry.

Your ability to communicate your ideas through essays is a skill that will put you ahead. In this course, you will learn how to evaluate sources, how to reference materials, and how to structure different types of academic essays. Some of the expository essays covered are Cause and Effect, Process Analysis, Classification, Extended Definition, and Comparison and Contrast. Classical Argumentative Essays can also be taught if requested.

About the tutor

Mr. Demion McTair is a trained Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) specialist. He holds a First Class Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in Jamaica. He was also the valedictorian of the Class of 2020 for the Faculties of Humanities and Education, Science and Technology, and the Institute of Gender and Development Studies. While at the UWI, McTair was a master essay writer who assisted many others in structuring their ideas.

When he returned to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Mr. McTair lectured in communication and business communication at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College – Division of Technical and Vocational Education – DTVE (2020-2023), after which, he worked at the National Broadcasting Corporation as Assistant General Manager of Administration and Public Relations. While there, he organized and executed several training programmes including one in Basic Digital Media Production. He also tutored in a Ministry of Education TVET Pilot Project in Radio Broadcasting for students at the Forms 3 and 4 levels. He also tutored in a 4-week training in Effective Communication with the Personnel Department of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He left NBC after eight months to focus on One News SVG and McTair Communication which he started in 2020.

He is still passionate about providing training (from a private sector standpoint) while publishing news.

Mr. McTair also writes public relations and advertising campaigns for private clients. He has also written advocacy communication plans, strategic plans, and crisis communication plans. He can also write political communication and marketing plans.

Mr. McTair has written on several development issues including a 2013 article on Climate Change Reparations which made it to the Course Outline at the The Asian Institute – Munk School of Global Affairs of the prestigious University of Toronto (2020).
