Archery Association held its 1st National Ranking Tournament

The Archery Association of St. Vincent and the Grenadines held its first National Ranking Tournament.

It was held at the Dolphin Gymnastics Center, Arnos Vale on May 27^th to May 28^th, 2023 as an inaugural tournament.  

The categories for the tournament were Men’s Open and Women’s Open.

The first day were the “Qualifying Round”.  This round saw all archers shoot a total of 72 arrows at 30 Meters.  The final score in the first round determined the ranking order for the second day’s “Double Elimination Match Play”. The second day, match play saw head-to-head brackets with all archers performing at a high level. 

The top three (3) for each category were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals.

Women’s Order: 1^st place Karen Palmer, 2^nd place Morese Burgin, 3^rd place Richol Richards.

Men’s Order: 1^st place Jared Nichols, 2^nd place Ian Gibson, 3^rd place Vanburn Harry.

The event were mentioned in the World Archery’s Monthly Newsletter.

The Association says it is thankful to all the supporters, members and officials who made the event a success.
