The Cariway is scheduled to launch an online marketplace for local tour operators in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023. The launching focal point is to include local, authentic and sustainable travel experiences for tourists, while publicizing local business owners in the tourism sector.
According to a press release, (July 16), the founder of The Cariway -Cenus Hinds said, the platform, http://www.thecariway.com will offer local tour operators the ability to showcase their experiences and services in a centralized location for prospective clients, both foreigners and locals, to effortlessly find and complete bookings.
The serial entrepreneur Cenus Hinds, has leveraged his experiences in information technology, marketing and business to create a unique platform that prioritizes sustainability of the local economy.
“I think it’s important for us to have that ability locally to go from a tour idea in St. Vincent by a local tour operator, to basically the sale of that tour to tourists in Canada who’d be visiting, instead of having to rely solely on external companies or old and unfriendly methods like email, wire transfers etc. Essentially, we wanted the ability to offer our kayaking and other experiences that have been supported so well locally to regional and international travelers while also enabling other tour operators to offer theirs alongside us”, said Mr. Hinds.

The marketplace features will include online payment processing (earnings, wire transfers minus commission on a monthly basis), calendar management, tours separated by category, multi-currency support, reviews & ratings, digital marketing and more, the press release stated.
The Cariway was conceptualized in 2019 by the founder, Cenus Hinds Jr.
Mr. Hinds said, he started traveling and felt like he was experiencing other countries/islands through tours more than his home, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The goal of The Cariway is to provide locals and tourists with experiences & services within a country through a centralized platform for these tours.

The platform goes beyond offering a service; it actively contributes to the local economy and fosters a sense of community among service providers, said Mr. Hinds.
The platform offers Vincentian tour operators a starting commission rate of 12% and would assist with getting the first tour for each operator on the platform. A standard commission of 15% is taken once bookings and payments occur, the press release stated.
The platform, http://www.thecariway.com is said to undergone testing, with a ‘trial period’ resulting in successful bookings amounting to hundreds of dollars in sales, the press release further stated.
The Cariway wishes to invite all local tour operators to upload their experiences and services by signing up on,
