The Department of Culture within the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable
Development and Culture will be hosting a three (3)-day workshop at the Peace Memorial Hall.
According to a press release (July 17), Co-Ordinator and Dance Development Officer, Ms. Juanita Phillips said, the aim of the workshop is to further promote the development of dance in SVG and to provide dancers with an opportunity to engage in the various aspects of dance growth.
The three (3) day workshop will begin on Thursday, July 20th, 2023 and end Saturday, July 22nd, 2023.
Ms. Phillips emphasized that dance development training plays a significant role in the
growth and advancement of dancers as well as the overall development of the artform
such as skill enhancement, artistic growth, professional preparation, physical fitness and
emotional well-being, personal growth, self-confidence, flexibility, cultural preservation
and exploration and most importantly collaboration and teamwork among dancers, the press release further stated.
