Ministry of Tourism will host its first National Community Tourism Consultation

The Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture will host the first in the series of the National Community Tourism Consultations on Thursday July 20th, 2023 at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

According to a press release today (July 18), Ministry of Tourism said, the event will seek to provide a forum for stakeholders to discuss matters related to tourism development and to further sensitize Vincentians about the transformation of the tourism and hospitality industry in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Thursday’s consultation will feature presentations by the Minister of Tourism, Honourable-
Carlos James, the Minister of Agriculture- Honourable Saboto Caesar, the Minister of Finance-
Honourable Camillo Gonsalves along with the Managing Director, Eastern Caribbean of Sandals
Resorts International-Mr. Winston Anderson, and President of the SVG Hotel and Tourism
Association- Mrs. Kim Halbich, the press release stated.

The Ministry of Tourism said, the presentations will seek to highlight the importance of the tourism industry to the country’s economy with specific emphasis on the linkages to other economic sectors.

The National Community Tourism Consultation is expected to bring together representatives
from the public and private sector agencies and key tourism partners, further stated the press release.

An invitation is extended to the general public to participate in the event by attending or joining virtually via VC3 and the API as well as the various social media platforms of the Ministry of Tourism.

The Ministry of Tourism said, following Thursday’s launch, the National Community Tourism Consultations will continue in various communities throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines until November 2023.
