The Maternity Ward of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital – MCMH received a donation of supplies valued at XCD $7,000 on Friday (August 18).
The donation of the items was made by Cultural Ambassador and Vincentian musician – Mr. Darron Andrews.
According to information received from Mr. Andrews, the items included baby bags, blankets, baby bottles, baby oils, lotion, diapers, sanitizers, sanitary napkins, sanitary wipes, baby shoes, baby onesies, wash cloths, wall clock, rash creams, baby brushes and combs, and other items.
Mr. Andrews told One News SVG today (August 19) that the items are valued at over XCD $7000 dollars (1 USD = 2.70 XCD).
Present to witness the donation were members of the hospital staff and Minister of Health – St. Clair Jimmy Prince.
Mr. Andrews said he adopted the Maternity Ward for the Mother’s Day celebrations and the proceeds from his Flagship event – ‘Love and Laughter’ were donated to the ward as promised.
In receiving the donations on behalf of the ward Sister Onell Whyllie, Departmental Manager of the Maternity Ward Unit expressed thanks to Mr. Andrews and said the donations will go a long way in helping patients on the ward.
