My name is Lyndon Browne. I was born in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, originally raised in Lowmans Windward and this is my story.
Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to meet individuals from various backgrounds in the Hospitality industry since 2012, each with their unique blend of experiences, narratives, and principles. However, amidst the rich diversity of these encounters, I’ve discerned an unsettling commonality: an inclination to externalise blame. Many appear to find solace in attributing their struggles to factors outside their control. This growing trend, which seems to be an increasingly prevalent societal narrative deeply concerns me, especially since I’ve often caught myself ensnared in its deceptive allure.
My passion started in the hotel industry in 2012 after I graduated from the North Union Secondary School Year 2011 where I gained CXC 4 subjects English, Integrated Science, Wood Work, and Social Studies. My first Job after School was at Petit St . Vincent Resort in 2012. In 2013, I was promoted as Housekeeping Supervisor. After I was promoted , I’ve always said to myself that I want to go higher in life and be able to make my family proud.
Therefore, in 2018 I took the opportunity to work in canouan at Tamarind Beach Hotel which is rebranded as Soho Beach Canouan. In 2021 I was promoted to Housekeeping Manager and graduated with a Three Diploma. I am also looking forward to completing my Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management.
In closing, I would like to encourage the youths in SVG to never give up on life and take advantage of the opportunities given.
