Sanitation workers in Kingstown will receive gift vouchers for Christmas that they can use to shop at Coreas Food Mart.
Today, December 8, 2023, the management of Coreas Food Mart presented the vouchers valued at a total of $4,000 to officials from the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment.

The individual value of each gift voucher ranges from $50 to $75.
In his remarks at the handing over ceremony today (December 8) at Coreas Food Mart in Kingstown, Managing Director of Coreas Distributions Limited – Mr. Jimmy Ford said the donation was “a very easy decision” for Coreas.
He said: “Sanitation workers ensure that the city is clean,” adding that “we at Coreas Food Mart felt it necessary to show our appreciation for the hard work”.

He said the company felt it necessary to select the hardworking sanitation workers in Kingstown as they keep the city clean and keep the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) healthy.
“Each will get a voucher to make their Christmas a bit more merry,” he added.
Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment – Mr. Cuthbert Knights expressed gratitude for the generosity.
He thanked Coreas for exercising their Corporate Social Responsibility, adding that it is not the first time that Mr. Forde and Coreas have made a generous donation.

He said Coreas made donations during the COVID-19 period and also to support work on the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Knights said the ministry recognizes “the hard work of the Public Health Department and the sanitation workers,” adding that It is a job that many of us don’t want to do, sowe have to recognize their efforts to outstanding work.
