BREAKING: Guyana and Venezuela agree on 11-point peace declaration in SVG

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela – H.E. Nicolas Maduro and the President of The Co-operative Republic of Guyana – H.E. Dr. Irfaan Ali have agreed to an 11-point peace deal relaxing tensions over the Essequibo border controversy.

The declaration is called the Joint Declaration of Argyle For Dialogue and Peace Between Guyana and Venezuela.

In a nearly 11-hour-long series of meetings at the Argyle International Airport today (December 14), both leaders agreed on the wording in the final draft of the joint agreement in which they agreed to refrain from conflict.

The series of meetings was overseen by several CARICOM leaders and high-level officials from the United Nations.
