BREAKING: Man who was shot 9 times dies at hospital

One of the two men who was shot today at Lower Edinboro has died.

Dead is Dwayne Banfield, a 34-year-old. He died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital this afternoon.

The deceased had received about nine bullets to his body.

Mr. Banfield’s death means that this country has recorded 53 homicides for 2023, an unprecedented number.

The other man who was shot has been identified as Allan Lewis, a 29-year-old. He is in a stable condition at the hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting of the men are unknown.

So far, 2023 has been a record-breaking year for killings across St. Vincent and the Grenadines with 53 homicides, most of which were gun-related.
