Police issue report on deadly December 31 shooting at Old Montrose

Police attached to the Major Crime Unit (MCU) in the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that resulted in the death of Kenroy Peters, a thirty-one (31) year-old Mason of Old Montrose, the RSVGPF stated in a press release.

The shooting occurred about 11:45 p.m. on Sunday 31st December 2023, the police report stated.

“Preliminary information revealed that the deceased walking along the Old Montrose Public Road towards his place of abode when he was accosted by a masked assailant with a gun who shot him multiple times in his upper body and head. Peters was pronounced deceased at the scene by a medical practitioner,” police said.

“The crime scene was processed by members of the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were collected,” police stated.

The RSVGPF said: “A postmortem examination is expected to be carried out on the deceased to ascertain the exact cause of death. The RSVGPF expresses its deepest condolences to all those who are negatively affected by this fatal shooting”.

All information received would be treated confidentially. Investigations into the matter are ongoing, police said.
