This country recorded a total of eight hundred and forty five motor vehicle accidents in 2023.
Officer in-charge of Traffic, Transport and Garage, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Parnel Browne said at a press conference today (January 3) that the figure is a 5 percent increase over the number of accidents reported in 2022.
In 2022, a total of 781 motor vehicle accidents are reported throughout police stations across the country.
Many of the accidents were reported in Kingstown.
According to ASP Browne, 545 of the 845 motor vehicle accidents were reported in Kingstown in 2023.
In 2022, the number of accidents reported in Kingstown was 456.
“This is not good at all in terms of our motorists. We have to exercise more caution,” ASP Browne said, urging motorists to think about the causes of the accidents and to do better.
