CONFIRMED: SVG will host 5 matches in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024

St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) will host five (5) matches in the International Cricket Council – ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will run from June 1 to June 29, 2024 in the Caribbean and the USA.

According to information released on its official Facebook page today (January 5), SVG will host three matches in Group D, namely, Bangladesh versus the Netherlands on Thursday, June 13, South Africa versus Nepal on Friday, June 14, and Bangladesh versus Nepal on Sunday, June 16.

The other two matches will be second-round (quarterfinal) group matches.

A team advancing from Group C (C1) will face off against a team advancing from Group B (B2) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

The final scheduled ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match in St. Vincent will be a match between a team advancing from Group C (C1) and Group D (D2) on Monday, June 24, 2024.

There are four groups according to the fixtures released by West Indies Cricket, those advancing from those groups will then form a pool of two groups that will compete against each other for places in the semi-finals.

Group A comprises of India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and the USA.

Group B comprises of England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman.

Group C comprises of teams – New Zealand, West Indies, Afganistan, Uganda, and Papa New Guinea.

Group D, from which most group-stage matches scheduled for St. Vincent will be played, includes teams – South Africa, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Nepal.
