SVG Police Force gives full credit to Fishermen and Divers in response to Bequia plane crash

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force – RSVGPF said today (January 5) that it wishes to give full credit to divers and fishermen who participated in rescue efforts after the fatal January 4 plane crash off the coast of Bequia.

The RSVGPF said in statement that it’s January 4 press release has an error as it stated that stated that “the four bodies were recovered from the aircraft/sea by Coast Guard personnel”.

In its Janaury 5 statement, the RSVGPF said it “wishes to give full credit to the valiant efforts of the Fishermen and Divers from the Bequia community who collaborated with the SVG Coast Guard in the retrieval operation. The bodies were recovered from the wreckage by the divers and handed over to Coast Guard personnel at the scene”.

“The RSVGPF and the SVG Coast Guard Service value the partnership and collaboration of members of the public in the execution of their duties. The selfless and brave acts of the fishermen and divers are very much appreciated and supported 100 percent by the authorities,” the RSVGPF said.

On January 4, 2024, four people died when an airplane in which they were traveling plummeted into the sea of the coast of Bequia.

Dead are American actor – Christian Klesper.

According to ABC News, Klesper acted in movies such as Speed Racer. He was known professionally as Christian Oliver.

Mr. Klesper and his two daughters – Madita Klepser and Annik Klepser, 10 and 12 years old, respectively, were traveling to St. Lucia after vacationing in Bequia.

Klesper, his two daughters and the pilot died. All four bodies were recovered.
