An information session will be held by representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to discuss the ICDF and MOFA scholarships offered yearly to qualified Vincentians.

The session will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Villa Campus of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC), the college said in a post today (January 24).

The session begins at 1:00 p.m. in the Lecture Theatre Building at the SVGCC Villa Campus.

Interested persons are invited to attend the session, the college said.

Some 269 Vincentians have so far benefited from scholarships to pursue tertiary education in the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The last awardees were thirty-three Vincentians who were given Taiwan ICDF scholarships in August 2023.

Taiwan has been offering scholarships to Vincentian students since 2004.

There are two main scholarship programmes. They are the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) scholarship and the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China (MOFA) Scholarship.

Vincentian students can benefit from either of the scholarships, or they can apply directly to universities in Taiwan that may have funding programmes.
