American Airlines will increase to six, the number of flights it offers from Miami to St. Vincent from November while Air Canada is launching a weekly service out of Toronto commencing April 7.

This country’s Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture made the announcement yesterday (January 23).

Minister James said tourism authorities are working closely with other airlines to improve airlift capacity. In a few weeks, he said, announcements of additional airlines to enter the market will be made.

He said Jet Blue is on the horizon and is likely to touch down at Argyle International before end of year, with at least two other carriers likely between this year and next year.

The Argyle International Airport will next month celebrate its seventh anniversary of operation.
