Here is the police report on the Jan 23 Gibson Corner shooting

Police say they have launched an investigation into the shooting of a 54-year-old resident of Gibson Corner. The victim was shot at about 11:30 a.m. On Tuesday 23rd, January 2024, in Gibson Corner.

In a press release, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said: “Preliminary information revealed that the victim and the assailant were engaged in an argument when the assailant shot him in the left leg and on the left side of his chest”.


“The victim is warded at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in stable condition. One male suspect is in custody, assisting with the investigation,” police said.

The police said they are encouraging anyone with information that can assist with the investigation of this and other crimes to call 911/999, the Criminal Investigations Department at 1784-457-1211 ext. 4837, or any police station or police officer they are comfortable speaking with. All calls will be treated confidentially. The investigation is ongoing.

The January 22 shooting at Gibson Corner followed the Sunday 21st shooting of a forty (40) year-old Unemployed male of Fair Hall by an unknown assailant. That incident took place at the southern end of the tarmac at the decommissioned airport.

That incident followed an armed robbery at Hills Minimart in the Plan area of Campden Park on January 20.

During that incident said to the the first shooting incident of the year, Mr. Gordon Lavia, 57, an employee of Hills Minimart received six gunshot wounds to his forearm, by masked men who robbed his workplace.

He survived the ordeal.
