The application period is now open for females 18-26 years old who wish to take part in the 2024 Miss SVG Pageant.
The announcement was made today (January 26) by the Beauty Shows Committee of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC).
According to the Committee, applications close on February 12th, 2024.
Interested applicants must visit http://www.misssvg.com to submit applications.
The Miss SVG is the premier pageant in the country. The winner gets a fully funded university scholarship from the government and the chance to represent the country overseas.
Traditionally, the pageant was held in May/June during activities leading up the Vincy Mas, but in 2020, the show was moved to October as part of Independence celebrations.
Eligibility
According to the Miss SVG website, to be eligible for selection, applicants must be at least 18 and under 26 years of age before January 1st in the year that they hope to compete.
Applicants must have successfully completed secondary school with at least 6 CXC/ CSEC passes, inclusive of English A. Completion of some post-secondary education will be an asset.
Applicants must not married or pregnant. They must also have never been married, had a marriage annulled, or given birth to a child. The titleholder is also required to remain unmarried and without pregnancy throughout her reign.
Applicants must have not previously competed in the Miss SVG pageant.
Miss SVG 2024 will be held under the theme: “A Royal Dream”.
