Four athletics clubs across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) have benefitted from a total of XCD $15,000 donated to them by the Rotary Club of St. Vincent South.
In a press release, the Rotary Club of St. Vincent South said its members journeyed to the Sir Vincent Beache National Stadium in Diamond on January 27 to present four tracks, and in particular individual athletes from the red zone areas with financial assistance.
The track clubs that benefitted from this assistance are ITDAT Academy, High Performance, Team Mustangs, and Roses Academy, the Rotary said in a press release.

Members of four clubs were on site for the handing over of the $15,000 award which will be shared between the four clubs.
The Club said it “recognizes the need to support our nation’s youths, and this assistance is geared towards providing the necessary equipment and support in sports-related activities”.
“Involvement of our youths in sports at an early age opens opportunities for a higher level of education, increases self-esteem and social skills, and promotes overall health and well-being,” the club said in a press release.

The move comes as the Rotary Club of St. Vincent South culminates its Women and Male Empowerment Project.
The final leg of the project will focus on the Youths as two separate projects: Youth Empowerment through Sport and Youth Empowerment through Creative Skills.
The Rotary Club of St. Vincent South said it is pleased to partner with the coaches of the aforementioned clubs and will conclude these projects to coincide with Youth Service Month in May 2024.
