The body of a man was discovered with gunshot wounds in the West Kingstown community of Ottley Hall this evening (January 31).
According to reports, members of the community heard gunshots sometime after 6:00 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently unknown, but we will bring more details as they come to hand from authoritative sources.

The deceased went by the alias “Engine”. We will publish his full name when the police confirm it.
This means SVG has recorded its first homicide for 2024 by gun violence and the second overall for the year.
The first homicide being investigated is that of Redemption Sharpes resident – Rudolph Pollard who was found dead in Kingstown after discharging himself from the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. Pollard was stabbed and went to hospital but discharged himself. It is believed that he succumbed to the stab injuries days after discharging himself from hospital, but police are investigating the matter.

The January 31 Ottley Hall shooting incident comes after several reported shootings during the month of January.
Among the reported shootings in January is the shooting of a worker at Hills Minimart at Plan, Campden Park during a daytime robbery.
The minimart has experienced a number of robberies. At least two people are assisting the police with investigations.

Another notable reported shooting event occurred at the tarmac of the decommissioned E.T. Joshua Airport at Arnos Vale where a man was reported hanging out with a woman in a car when an unknown assailant became present and started firing shots at the man.
There was also a shooting a Gibson Corner where a man was reportedly shot in his leg.
