The National Insurance Services (NIS) would like to inform its valued pensioners who receive their pension payment via cheque, that their cheques must be collected at the NIS’ office in Kingstown, on Friday February 23, 2024.
According to a press release today, (February 20th), these valued pensioners are strongly advised to submit a bank or credit union account during their visit, to facilitate their pension payments.
Failure to do this will result in delays to their pension payments going forward. If a pensioner does not have an account, the NIS will work along with them to provide the necessary assistance to facilitate the opening of one, the press release stated.

Accordingly, pensioners are asked to walk with at least two pieces of ID once they are available. As the NIS prepares to increase its minimum pension effective March 1, 2024, the provision of an account is necessary to ensure efficient processing of payment, the press release stated.
The NIS wishes to take this time to thank its valued pensioners for their understanding during this time and remain committed to providing all the necessary assistance or addressing any concerns, the press release concluded.
