Police say they are investigating a report that a student at a secondary school in Kingstown was cut on his neck with a razor blade by another student.

In a press release issued today (February 22), police said: “Officers at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) have opened an investigation into a report of wounding where it alleged that a 14-year-old student of one of the secondary schools in Kingstown cut another 14-year-old student on the right side of his neck with a razor blade”.

One News SVG understands that the victim received several stitches.

Since the matter involves a two minors and there are guidelines as to how police investigations surrounding minors should be reported in the media, neither the school nor the names of the students have been mentioned.

Police say preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred on Monday 19th February 2024 about 3:00 p.m. on the school’s compound.

“Investigations into the report continue,” police say.
