Incumbent Mr. Oswald Robinson was returned as the president of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union (SVGTU) after the recent elections.
This will be Robinson’s seventh term as the head of the SVGTU as he has served as president six times.
According to a press release from the SVGTU, the General Elections were held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, and Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

According to the preliminary results, Mr. Robinson outperformed his lone contender – Ms. Nicole Martindale to win the presidential race.
The release did not specify the margin of victory or even how many members voted in the elections.
Mr. Robinson served the Union as president six times, namely 2022, 2020, 2016, 2001, 2003, and 2012.

Meanwhile, the release provided the names of other successful candidates.
The 1st Vice President position was taken by Mr. Vanrick Williams while the 2nd Vice President position was taken by Mrs. Yokanne Blugh-Holder.
Mrs. Ketty Kydd-Rhynd holds the position of General Secretary while Ms. Tishanna Reid holds the Assistant General position.

Mr. Mariah Samuel holds the Treasurer position while Ms. Fiona Charles holds the Public Relations Officer position.
Mr. Anthony Compton and Ms. Reba Cozier are Committee Members.

The SVGTU said the elected officers will be installed at the SVGTU’s 23rd Biennial Convention scheduled for April 2024 for the 2024-2026 Biennium.
