Coreas, comprising Coreas Hazells Inc. its subsidiaries and Coreas Distribution Ltd. said it has announced a strategic partnership with track and field sensation Shafiqua Maloney.
According to a press release today, (March 8th), Coreas Hazells said, the collaboration involves a significant investment of $54,000 to support Ms. Maloney’s journey to the 2024 Olympics.
In recent times, the Vincentian-born athlete who holds the national record for the female 800-meter race has appealed for assistance to support her bid to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
In a February 15 interview with SportsMax, Maloney highlighted financial and other constraints she had been enduring as she plans to compete in the Paris Olympics.
The interview caught the attention the Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines – Dr. Ralph Gonsalves who publicly pledged the government’s support for Ms. Maloney.
In its press release, Coreas said as a leading company in the private sector, it is committed to fostering talent, promoting athleticism, and contributing to the success of outstanding individuals like Shafiqua Maloney, the press release explained.
The partnership entails financial support for Olympic aspirations, brand ambassadorship, and empowering local talent, according to the press release.
On the issue of financial support for Olympic aspirations Coreas said its investment of $54,000 will directly contribute to Shafiqua Maloney’s training, travel expenses, and preparations for the 2024 Olympics.
As it relates to brand ambassadorship, Coreas said Shafiqua Maloney will also serve as a brand ambassador for Coreas, aligning her values with the company’s mission and vision. The collaboration will extend beyond financial support to include joint promotional activities.
The third area of collaboration announced by Coreas is empowering local talent. Under this area, Coreas said it has a longstanding tradition of empowering local talent and contributing to the development of the community. The company said this partnership with Shafiqua Malone exemplifies the company’s dedication to nurturing and promoting excellence within the region.
