The Stephanie Browne Primary from Union Island dethroned the Kingstown Preparatory School to reclaim the Inter-Primary Schools Athletics Championship title today (March 20).

The finals were held at the Sir. Vincent Beache Athletics Stadium at Diamond.

Stephanie Browne placed first with a total of 181 points, just one point ahead of the Kingstown Preparatory School’s 180 points.

In third position was the Canouan Government School with 158 points.

This means two schools from the Southern Grenadines have taken two of the top three positions in the national competition.

In 2022, the Stephanie Browne Primary won the championship title, but lost it in 2023 to the Kingstown Preparatory School.

The Stephanie Browne Primary had also won the title in 2019.

No competitions were held in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic or in 2021, the year of the April 2021 explosive eruptions of the La Soufriere volcano which displaced thousands of people.
