The Central Leeward Secondary School Girls Athletics Team has defended its title by winning the finals of the 2024 Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Championship while the St. Vincent Grammar School retained the boys’ title.
The 2024 Finals of the national sports championship were held today (March 21) at the Sir. Vincent Beache Athletics Stadium at Diamond.
Central Leeward girls dominated the competition and ran their way to their seventh (7th) consecutive victory.
They scored 422 points.
The Central Leeward Secondary School Girls’ Team victory in the finals comes months after winning their 3rd consecutive title in the Inter-Secondary Schools Road Relay held on October 12, 2023.
In second position in the finals of the 2024 Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Championships was the St. Vincent Girls’ High School with 282 points while the girls’ team from the Georgetown Secondary School took the third spot with 144 points (Updated).
For the boys, the St. Vincent Grammar School dominated the competition winning the boys’ title with a total of 335 points. In second position for the boys was Central Leeward Secondary with 287 points while third position went to the Troumaca Ontario Secondary School with 222 points.
Correction: The Georgetown Secondary School took the third position for the girls and not the Troumaca Ontario Secondary.
