Vincentian Kione DeShong captures medal in CARIFTA Aquatics

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has so far secured a Bronze medal at the 37th CARIFTA Aquatic Championships being held in the Bahamas.

Vincentian Kione De Shong from the Black Sands Swim Squad secured bronze in the 100m breaststroke on Tuesday (April 2) (updated).

Kione competed in the 11 to 12 age group.

The news comes after Team SVG did not secure any medals in the athletics leg of the recently CARIFTA games held in Grenada.

According to CARIFTA Aquatics’ website, twelve Vincentian swimmers are listed to take part in the aquatics championships in the Bahamas.

Twenty-five (25) countries are taking part in the 37th CARIFTA Aquatics Championships in Nassau, Bahamas from March 29 – April 3, 2024.
