Seven (7) nursing students from various batches within the Division of Nursing Education (DNE) of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) will compete for the title Miss DNE 2024.
According to an April 5 press release from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, the contestants were revealed at the SVGCC’s 2023 independence celebrations and sashed by Dr. Roxanne Stowe-Maloney, Dean of DNE.

The Miss DNE 2024 Pageant will take place on Saturday, May 11th, 2024 at 7:00pm at the SVGCC’s Villa Campus under the theme “One Night of Glitz, Glam and Nursing Talent,” the press release said.
Representing nurses who have made impactful contributions locally, regionally, or internationally, the contestants are:
• Trevisha Cadougan – Miss Cubah Cornwallis
• Simonique Denis – Miss Elma Dougan
• Jozelle Henry – Miss Mary Eliza Mahoney
• Nadia Lewis – Miss Sarah Baptiste
• Zaria Lynch – Miss Mary Seacole
• Donasha Toney – Miss Aberdeen Browne
• Tiaree Whyte – Miss Florence Nightingale

Leading the Miss DNE 2024 Pageant Committee is Chairperson Shadyn McLean, a third-year student in the BSc. Nursing programme, who brings experience from her achievements as first runner-up in the Miss SVG 2022 pageant and second runner-up in the Miss Jaycees 2022 pageant, the press release said.
“McLean says the show presents a platform to highlight the multifaceted nature of student nurses and nursing professionals in general, as well as, an opportunity for current students to become more involved in extracurricular activities, which will assist in their planning, multitasking, and networking abilities,” the press release added.

The press release said: “In the build-up to the pageant, contestants will engage in various community activities, focusing on health education and health promotion. The pageant’s committee is aiming to collaborate with schools and community-based organisations on this initiative.
