A group of young professionals successfully completed training in press release writing and business writing as they enhanced their skills.
The online training was facilitated by McTair Communication which is owned and operated by Communication Specialist, Journalist, and Lecturer – Mr. Demion McTair.
The majority of persons in the group that participated in the training were members of staff at the Zero Hunger Trust Fund. Others came from various organizations.
A total of eight persons were trained under the programme across both courses.
The first part of the training involved writing effective press releases. That two-day online training took place in February 2024.
The second and final part of the training involved understanding the fundamentals of Business Communication and involved writing several business letters using the Direct and Indirect approaches which lasted five weeks (March to April). It ended on April 8, 2024, and the participants recoved their certificates.
The business Writing training covered theoretical and practical training in writing Adjustment Letters, Direct Claim letters, Action/Information Request letters, Direct Replies, Complaint Letters, and Denial of Claims letters, among others.
In its commitment to offer quality training to the public and the private sector, McTair Communication offered the courses and plans to offer more enrichment courses.
Some of the participants expressed thanks For the knowledge imparted as they said it will better help them maneuver, professionally in several communication circumstances.
