70-year-old man charged with wounding 14-year-old student

Police say that on April 11, they arrested and charged Junior Morgan, 70 years old retired Electrician of Diamond with the Offence of Wounding. 

In an April 16 press release, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said: “It was reported that the Accused allegedly unlawfully and maliciously wounded a 14 years old student of Brighton by striking him on his right forearm with a piece of board”.

“The incident occurred in Brighton on the 02.04.24 at 12 p.m,” police said.

“Morgan appeared before the Calliaqua Magistrate Court where he pleaded guilty and was fined $1300.00ECC in default one (1) year in prison,” police said.

Meanwhile, police reported on a number of other offenses, as follows:

MECHANIC CHARGED FOR WOUNDING

On the 11.04.24 Police arrested and charge Bertram Jackson, 50 years old Mechanic of Yambou with the Offence of Wounding.

According to the investigations, the Accused allegedly unlawfully and maliciously wounded an eighty seven years old Retired Farmer of the same address by striking him on his head, left hand and about his body with a cutlass. The incident occurred at Yambou on the 18.05.21 about 5:30 p.m.

Jackson was granted station bail and is expected to appear before the Mesopotamia Court on the 19.04.24 to answer the charge.

FARMER AND CART OPERATOR  CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED DRUG AND DRUG TRAFFICKING

April 16th, 2024: Kingstown- On April, 2024, Police arrested and charged Rudolph Marshall, 53 years old Cart Operator of Lowmans Leeward and Saville Keir,52 years old  Farmer of Biabou with the offences of Possession of a Controlled Drug with intent to supply it to another and for Drug Trafficking.

The Accused men allegedly had in their possession five hundred and fifty four (554) grams of cannabis with the intent to supply to another, the purpose of drug trafficking. The offences were committed at the Kingstown Wharf about 5:50 pm on the 11.04.24 p.m. 

Marshal and Keir appeared before the Serious Offences Court. Marshall pleaded guilty to the offence of possession of Controlled Drug and was fined $500.00ECC. He also pleaded not guilty for Drug Traffic which was withdrawn. Keir pleaded guilty to possession of Controlled Drug and Drug Trafficking. He was fined for the $500.00ecc for the offence ofDrug Trafficking, and was reprimanded and dischargedfor the offence of Possession of Controlled Drug.

37-YEAR-OLD FARMER ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH AMMUNITION, DRUG, AND FIREARM OFFENSES

On April 12, 2024, at approximately 4:32 pm, police arrested and charged Dearon Glasgow, a 37-year-old farmer from Dickson, for possession of thirty (30) rounds of .45 caliber ammunition without a licenseissued under the Firearm Act.

The accused was also arrested and charged with possession of controlled drugs. He was allegedly found in possession of one thousand, eight hundred and sixteen (1,816) grams of cannabis with intent to supplyto another. The arrest occurred in Dickson Village, Georgetown around 5:45 am on the same date.

In addition on 14.04.24, Police arrested and charged Mr. Glasgow, for illegally having in his possession one (1) KAHR P .45 pistol without a license issued under the firearm act serial number unknown. (2) For having in his possession six (6) rounds .45 ammunition without a license issued under the Firearm Act. The offences were committed at Dickson Village on 12.04.24 at about 5:45pm 

Glasgow appeared before the Serious Offenses Court on April 15, 2024. He pleaded Not Guilty to all charges and was granted one surety in the sum of $10,000 composite bail and is to report to the Georgetown Police Station every Wednesdays between 8:00am and 8:00pm. The matter is adjourned to 17.06.24.
