Cocaine, assault & burglary: 3 Men arrested in separate incidents, police say

Three men have been arrested and charged for different offenses in three separate incidents.

In an April 19 press release, the Public Relations and Complaints Department of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force reported on the three separate incidents, as follows:

POLICE ARRESTED AND CHARGED 41 YEARS OLD CONDUCTOR FOR BURGLARY  

APRIL 19th  2024, Kingstown: On April 17, 202, Police arrested and charged Kelwyn Bute 41 years, Conductor ofRevierre for Burglary. 

The accused alleged entered the dwelling house of 51 years, Mason of Belvedere as a Trespasser and stole Three hundred and sixty dollars ($360.00) ECC in cash. Entry gained by forcing open a wooden door. The offence was committed at Belvedere on 16.04.24 at about 6:30am.

Bute appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded in custody. He is expected to reappear at the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Monday 22nd April, 2024.

MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AND DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

On April 17, 2024, at 7:50 PM, police arrested and charged Franklyn Joyles, 43, a Labourer of Richland Park, with assault causing Actual Bodily Harm and Damage to Property. The incident occurred on March 29, 2024, at approximately 2:30 PM in Richland Park.

Joyles is accused of physically assaulting a 55 years old Sailor from Richland Park, by striking him about his body with hands. Additionally, Joseph was charged for allegedly damaging one off-white Giraffe Hose valued at $890 ECC belonging to, the 55years old, Sailor by cutting same with a cutlass.

Joyles appeared before the Mesopotamia Magistrate Court. He pleaded not guilty to the charge. The matter was adjourned to 14. 06. 2024.

DOU ARRESTED ON COCAINE CHARGE

APRIL 19th  2024, Kingstown: On 18.04.24, Police arrested and charged Kevin Nelson, 37 years Shopkeeper of Long wall and Orande Dunbar 37 years, self-employed of Rillan Hill for Illegal Possession of Cocaine.

Both accused were allegedly charged for having in their possession 6.5grammes of cocaine with the intent to supply another. The offence was committed at Paul’s Avenue on 18.04.24 at about 12:00pm.

Nelson and Dunbar appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court. Dunbar pleaded Guilty to the charge and is remanded in custody. He is to appear at the Serious Offences Court on Monday 22nd April, 2024 for Facts and sentencing. Nelson pleaded not guilty to the charge, he was granted bail in the sum of $2500.00ECC with one (1) surety. He is to appear at the Serious Offences Court on Monday 22nd April, 2024.
