Some Christians believe that Matthew 25 verses 35 to 44 show that acts of kindness towards those in need are not just are not random things we should do when we feel good, but rather are things Jesus requires of his saints.
The realisation of this is part of what drives the outreach work at local church – Universal St. Vincent.
On Sunday, April 28, the church’s elderly group called Caleb Group Universal went to the Lewis Ponnett Home to spent some time with needy people under the care of that institution and to donate physical items.

The church’s pastor – Mr. Eurico Mecaula told One News SVG today (April 30) the social action was made up of prayers, singing hymns, and a few minutes dedicated to listening to them, and the pastor ministered the word of God to everyone.
“In order to contribute to the well-being of everyone, the Church donated some personal hygiene and cleaning products to the institution, as well as Christian books to strengthen the faith of those in need,” he added.

He said the items include over hundred rolls of toilet paper, bleach, an unspecified number of soap powder, liquid soap, and disinfectant.
The move is just another one of the church’s outreach mandate.
In 2023, the church took people from the streets, cleaned them up, fed them, and ministered to them.
