Agriculture Science and Entrepreneurship students at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) have donated part of their harvest to the Lewis Punnet Home.
The students are First-year students at the SVGCC’s Division of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE).
According to information sent to One News SVG, the students made the donation themselves.

Students enrolled in the Agriculture program at DTVE are involved in a wide variety of agricultural techniques, including crop production, ornamental production, poultry production, and food technology (the production of products with varied levels of value added).
Agriculture students engaged in the crop production element of the program have always taken the initiative to give back to those in need. Food availability, accessibility, use, and stability are the four pillars that support food security. We frequently face the challenge of limited availability or inability to obtain nutrient-dense local produce.

This may be due to financial constraints or the fact that our location is not in close proximity to the source. At DTVE, we are investing in young people so that they may become the future leaders in the transformation of agricultural food systems.
During the handover ceremony at Lewis Punnet’s home, Staff Nurse Bartholomew encouraged the students to continue their agricultural production once they graduated from college.
