Some Vincentians who reside on the mainland, of St. Vincent expressed frustration over a prolonged disruption in electricity supply by the sole State-owned electricity company – VINLEC tonight (June 2).
Some people have reported that the electricity has been gone for roughly two hours in their area while others have had their supply restored sooner.
In a statement on its Facebook page, VINLEC said it is currently experiencing a service interruption that is affecting customers nationwide.
“Our teams are working assiduously to have power restored at the soonest possible time. We apologize for this loss of service and we ask customers for patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issue. More updates to follow,” VINLEC said.
The electricity supply for customers of the Grenadines has not been interrupted.
Power has since been restored to most mainland communities.
