The Hospital Services Programme of the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment (MOHWE) announced today (June 5) that MRI services will resume in the country after a temporary pause.

Inna statement sent to the media, the health ministry said full MRI services will resume on Monday, June 10 as the quality enhancement upgrades to the MRI Services at the MMDC, Georgetown have been completed.

In March 2024, the ministry’s Hospital Services Programme announced a temporary pause in MRI services due to a decision to bring forward the start of scheduled quality enhancement upgrades to the MRI Services at the MMDC, Georgetown.

That pause was expected to last from March 27 to April 30, 2024.

In the June 5 statement, the MOHWE sincerely thanks our clients and health care practitioners for their patience while we implemented the quality assurance measures in our MRI services.

SVG first received MRI services after the country’s first MRI machine was commissioned in June 2023.
