Well, that’s what KTB and Vyper’s song – “Sideman” is all about, and the song has won them the 2024 North Leeward Soca Monarch title.
The song was written and performed by Klyvert “KTB” Browne & Jahlil “ VYPER” Williams and produced by DJ Jeanie.
“The Duo upset the heavy favorite in the competition ” Fry Yiy” who hails from the Central Leeward town – Layou with his song “Leave the Liquor” which placed second.
Third place went to Aidol with his song ” Way the Scene,” the organisers said.
The competition was held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Cherry Hill, Chateaubelair.
Twenty-five (25) soca artistes were slated to perform.
The listed competitors were Aidol – Way de scene, Bawl Dawg – I like it so, D’termine – Girls and Soca; Flee – Rum; Fruitilicious – Kick Em Jenny; Fry Yiy – leave the liquor; G.wise- Dunce Ed; Enigma – Center of Attention; Jace – Do It; Kilogram – Rum Play; King G- Cock It; KTB & Vyper – Sidman; Leo & Sleepy – Chaos; Elegance- Give Thanks; Rikaine – Rum for Carnival; Romey – Wet World; Tарн – Bush; Xojay & Ezra – Go een; Wukaman & Mont I – fool the public; Care Nada- Tek it; Wayne – Flat and Redz (the 2023 monarch) Gyal & Soca.
The North Leeward Sports and Cultural Organization, the entity charged with the responsibility of executing carnival activities in the constituency, said it entered into a partnership with Mad House Entertainment – an event production company. The Company is headed by popular DJ and promoter; Joel “Fugitive” Bibby was given the responsibility to execute the soca monarch competition, according to a press release.
