SVG to hold military parade to celebrate King Charles birthday

Police say the Annual Military Parade to commemorate the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty, Charles III, will take place on Saturday June 15, 2024, at the Old Montrose Parade Grounds commencing at 8:00 am.

In a June 12 press release, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said: “Governor General of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Her Excellency, Dame Susan Dougan, GCMG, OBE will attend and inspect the parade. Prime Minister, Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, and Commissioner of Police (Ag), Mr. Envill Williams will also be in attendance”. 

Other Caribbean countries who are members of the Commonwealth will host similar events.

Police said in the press release, The Parade will be under the command of Superintendent of Police, Mr. Junior Simmons. Inspector of Police, Mr. WilmetJohn will be the adjutant.

Persons attending the parade are asked to be seated by 7:30 a.m., police said.

After the conclusion of the parade, there will be a cocktail reception at the official residence of the Honourable Prime Minister commencing at 10:00 a.m. 

A cordial invitation is extended to the media to attend and bring coverage of the event.
