A body was discovered this morning (June 19) in the Paul Over/Murray’s Village area.
Here is what we can confirm:
The body is that of 34-year-old Dwayne Jacobs from Paul Over. His body was found in a river near his home.
The circumstances surrounding his death are currently unknown.
Police and investigators are on the scene. We will bring more information on the matter when police report their findings to the media.
Recent Murray’s Village homicides
The Murray’s Village community has been rattled recently by several gun-related deaths. Here are the most recent ones:
April 24, 2024: Footballer Zenroy Lee, 31, also known as “Chucky,” from Murrays Village was shot and killed. Police said inna press release that preliminary reports indicate that while Mr. Lee was in the company of another individual, a gunman arrived on the scene and shot Mr. Lee.
The homicide occurred in Murrays Village on the evening of April 24, 2024, at approximately 5:40 PM.
June 16, 2024: The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said it has launched an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on June 16, 2024, at a bar in Murray’s Village, resulting in one fatality and two injuries.
In a June 17 press release, police said preliminary reports indicate that a gunman entered the bar, accosted the patrons, and opened fire. As a result, Zeno Lee, an adult male from Murray’s Village, succumbed to gunshot injuries at the scene. Enrique King, another adult male, sustained gunshot wounds to his right chest and his right arm. Additionally, Ronald Millington sustained a broken leg while fleeing the scene during the incident.
