In a near repeat of last year’s Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) results, males have once again taken most of the top positions according to the 2024 preliminary results.
In the preliminary results released on June 20, Ethan Kent, 11, of the Sugar Mill Academy recorded the highest average score for the 2024 CPEA with 98.6% while Darius Jonathan Humphrey also of the Sugar Mill Academy took the second position.

The third and fourth positions also went to males. In third was the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School’s Evan Eddison Scott while fourth position was taken by Rio Ezra Fitzpatrick of the same school.
A male, Prayash Parida from the Windsor Primary School took the fifth position.
Speaking to One News SVG today (June 21) Kent described himself as a avid tennis player and excellent chef.
The academic star said the preparation period was hectic as he had to balance extracurricular activities and practicing past papers.
He spoke about the sacrifices he had to make including downsizing his involvement in tennis from six days per week to four.

Ethan’s parents spoke about his support and preparation during the CPEA period.
“Making a study schedule and sticking to it was key to his overall performance”.
His parents are professionals. His mother is a nurse and a lecturer at the SVGCC Division of Nursing Education while his father is a hotelier.
