None of us is immune to experiencing hard times at varying levels and for a variety of reasons.
One of the worst times, however, to be caught in an undercurrent of hard times is when a major hurricane is approaching.
To make matters worse, some people might have children that they cannot afford to feed during the storm.
Even worse is a situation where neighbors and family members might not be able to accommodate you.
Instead of suffering in silence, here is what to do: move to the nearest emergency shelter.
Emergency shelters will likely have supplies, especially food, water, and other essentials.
If you have important medication that you need to take with you, some clothing items, and a few toiletries, take them with you.
Presently at a dangerous Category 4 level, Hurricane Beryl is on track to hit St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and the other Windward Islands tomorrow, Monday (July 1).
All hurricane shelters open today, Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
Additionally if you think your place of aboard cannot withstand the dangerous winds Beryl is projected to bring, move to a shelter!
Here are the shelters, as published by the National Emergency Management Organisation – NEMO:
