A body was found today (July 4) in Union Island under rubble.

The discovery was reportedly made by a child in an area of Ashton, Union Island called Belmont.

The discovery is believed to be linked to the passage of Hurricane Beryl which devastated the island on July 1.

The deceased has been identified as Egerton Joseph. He reportedly lived in a house owned by David Ackee.

His death is the second confirmed death from Union Island associated with the passage of Hurricane Beryl.

On July 2, Mr. Philbert Bowens succumbed to injuries he sustained during the hurricane while trying to take cover from the hurricane.

On Tuesday, residents told One News SVG they believe the death toll from the hurricane will rise.
