The St. Vincent & the Grenadines Olympic Committee (SVGOC) announced today (July 15) that four athletes will represent this country in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In a press release, the SVGOC said four athletes will have the distinction of representing St Vincent and the Grenadines at the Summer Olympics set to officially open on 26 July in Paris, France.
The press release stated that the athletes are Shafiqua Maloney and Handal Roban who will present the country in athletics and Alexander Joachim and Kennice Greene who will represent the country in swimming.

The SVGOC said Shafiqua Maloney made the qualifying standard for both the 400m and 800m women. She has chosen to contest only the 800m while Handal Roban will contest the men’s 800m.
“In both cases, Team Athletics St Vincent and the Grenadines recommended the inclusion of the coach of each of the aforementioned athletes to accompany them at the Games. They have been working with them over the past several years and have been responsible for their preparation,” the SVGOC said.
For the professional swimmers, the SVGOC said Alexander Joachim will contest in the men’s 50m Freestyle while Kennice Greene will contest in the women’s 50m Freestyle.

“Both athletes will be accompanied by their coaches who are responsible for their preparation,” the SVGOC said.
The SVGOC said it congratulates all four of our athletes and extends best wishes for their successful participation on the world’s biggest sport stage.
