Police say they have arrested and charged Christopher ‘2 Kool Chris’ Jones, a 56-year-old Disc Jockey/Radio Announcer of Richmond Hill, with the offence of Wounding.
In a July 24 press release, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said police laid the charge against Mr. Jones on July 23, 2024.
“According to investigations, the accused allegedly unlawfully and maliciously wounded a 32-year-old Fisherman of Largo Height, by shooting him in his hip, left hand and right leg with a gun,” police said.
“The offence was committed on July 4, 2024 at Bay Street, Kingstown,” police said in the press release.
Police said: “Jones appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on July 24, 2024, where he pleaded not guilty”.
The conditions of his station bail continues and the matter was adjourned to September 6, 2024 for review, police said.
Jones is one of the hosts of the popular AM Mayhem radio morning programme on Hot97.1 FM, a programme that has ranked number 1 in numerous radio surveys for almost two decades.
Mr. Jones is also considered as being one of the most popular Disc Jockeys in the country.
