The Ministry of Housing, Informal Human Settlement, Youth and Sports said it has entered into a partnership with Coreas Building Supplies Ltd to provide relief to the residents of the Southern Grenadines who were affected by Hurricane Beryl.
In an August 13 press release, the Agency for Public Information (API) said: “Coreas presented a cheque in the amount of EC$ 250, 000 which would be redeemable at Coreas through a voucher system in the amounts of $3,000, $5,000 and $10,000.”
“Coreas will specify the type of material redeemable and will deliver the items to the Grenadines via the ferry service chartered by the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” the press release stated.

“If needed, the government would also supplement recipient with additional material that is needed. The Ministry would contact recipients to inform them of the process,” the press release further stated.
More than 90 percent of homes in the Southern Grenadines were damaged or destroyed by the passage of Hurricane Beryl on July 1, displacing hundreds of people.
