CDC Congratulates Skinny Fabulous on Outstanding Wins at the 2024 Caribbean Music Awards

The Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) has congratulated Vincentian Soca sensation, Gamal Doyle, popularly known as Skinny Fabulous, on his achievements at the 2024 Caribbean Music Awards.

Skinny Fabulous continues to elevate the profile of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the global stage, securing several prestigious awards at this year’s event.

In an August 30 press release, the CDC said: “The talented entertainer took home the coveted title of Artist of the Year Male (Soca), a testament to his undeniable influence and contribution to the Soca genre. His victory is a proud moment for St. Vincent and The Grenadines, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and musical talent of our nation”.

“In addition to this significant accolade, Skinny Fabulous, alongside Trinidadian Soca star Nailah Blackman, also won Video of the Year (Soca) and Collaboration of the Year (Soca) for their hit song “Come Home.” Nailah Blackman took to her Instagram to share her gratitude, stating how thankful she is for receiving these two amazing awards,” the CDC said.

The CDC said it commends Skinny Fabulous for his dedication, hard work, and continued success. His achievements serve as an inspiration to all aspiring artists in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and across the Caribbean.

The Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) describes itself as a state-owned corporation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines that promotes and preserves the cultural heritage of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) through the development of the nation’s annual carnival and other cultural events.

“We continue to support our artists in their quest to showcase our culture on the world stage,” the CDC said.
