The Our Lady of Guadalupe Home for Girls’ building located in Cane End, Mesopotamia was in flames this evening forcing the residents to be relocated.
It is unclear how the fire was started, but it destroyed the upstairs portion of the building.
According to reports, the occupants of the home have been located in a safe area.
It is not clear if anyone has been injured.
It is the second time in recent years that the home has been affected by fire.
The home was destroyed by fire on Monday, March 30, 2020.
Police are investigating.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kingstown, says on its website, that the Home is the lone non-profit institution on mainland St. Vincent that focuses primarily on transforming the lives of suffering and abused young girls, by providing them with a safe housing and nurturing environment. It is owned and operated by the Roman Catholic Church.
