SVG wins the 2024 ECCB International Netball Series

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) National Netball team – Vincy Jewels has won the 4th Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) International Netball Series.

In a competitive match tonight (September 29) against Grenada who were the defending champions, SVG prevailed scoring 59 to Grenada’s 50.

Grenada took the second position in the series while St. Lucia took the third position.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) for St. Vincent and the Grenadines was Kristiana Christopher who plays mainly in the Wing Attack position.

The most accurate shooter in the tournament was SVG’s Mary-Ann Frederick who scored 373 goals with a 92.8 percent accuracy rate.

Team SVG was also adjudged the Best Shooting Team with 498 goals out of 586 Attempts, an 88.8% accuracy rate.

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) said it hosted the 4th ECCB International Netball Series in Saint Lucia from 21 September to 30 September, in collaboration with the Caribbean Netball Association and the St Lucia National Netball Association.

The bank said on its website that seven teams from ECCB member countries—Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines—competed in 21 scheduled matches for the prestigious Gloria Ballantyne Championship trophy.

Gloria Ballantyne was a distinguished netballer from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Cayman Islands joined the series as a guest team, seeking to enhance its international netball ranking.
