A book by Vincentian academic – Dr. Emanuel Quashie has received approval for publication by Routledge – considered one of the top five leading academic publishers in the world.
The book is titled: The War on Terror and the Caribbean: Schmittian Perspectives.
Dr. Quashie told One News SVG the book “explores the horrific September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, commonly known as 9/11 and the subsequent War on Terror and its impact on the Caribbean”.
On its website, Taylor & Francis which acquired Routledge in 1998, says Routledge was founded in 1852 and is now considered to be the leading English-language publisher of humanities and social sciences. The merged company has become one of the top five research publishers globally.

It is not the first international publishing house to publish a book by Dr. Quashie.
In 2023, Dr. Quashie’s first book – Stakeholders of Terrorism and the Caribbean: A Short Case Study was published by Palgrave Macmillan which describes itself as a world-class publisher of books and journals with more than 175 years of experience in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
The first book is available at the libraries of leading universities across the world.
Dr. Quashie who lectures at the University of the West Indies Mona campus in the Faculty of Social Sciences holds a PhD in Politics with a focus on terrorism. He obtained his PhD at the Queen’s University Belfast, in Northern Ireland.
Since attaining his PhD, he has also written a number of academic papers including Rethinking the Caribbean Basin Initiative: A case study of US foreign policy toward the Caribbean which was published in August 2023.
