Police Investigating Fatal Shooting Incident

Police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that claimed the life of an adult male from Campden Park.

In a November 15 press release, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said that on November 15, 2024, they received an anonymous call reporting gunshots near the Young Island Dock in Villa and requested police assistance.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Brent Hackshaw with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after by the District Medical Officer (DMO).

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations are ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information that could assist in this case to contact:

Trinidadian charged with Taking Conveyance 

On November 14, 2024, police arrested and charged O’she Payne, a 24-year-old Labourer from Trinidad and Tobago, with the offence of Taking Conveyance. 

Investigations revealed that the accused drove motor vehicle R-1998, a blue Suzuki car belonging to a 23-year-old warehouse worker, without his consent or any other lawful authority. The offence was committed on November 6, 2024, in Campden Park.

Payne appeared before the Kingstown Magistrates Court on November 15, 2024, and pleaded guilty to the charge. He was fined $1,000.00 ECC to be paid forthwith or face one year of imprisonment at His Majesty’s Prison.
